2009 Denver Luxury Home Tour | Parade of Homes

Due to the slumping Real Estate Market for Custom Homes in the Denver Metro Area, the Home Builders Association of Metro Denver (HBA) decided to create a multiple site tour of $1 million plus homes called the “Denver Luxury Home Tour” instead of focusing the Parade of Homes on one specific development community. The Denver Luxury Home Tour will be open to the public Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, June 5 through July 5.
The 2008 Parade of Homes was held at Solterra, a gorgeous development located on 280 acres along Alameda Parkway near C-470 at the western edge of Lakewood. And from all accounts it was a huge success, although the builders who didn’t pre-sell their homes got caught up in the market a bit.

This years tour will include 27 homes in premier communities across the Metro Denver region in locations such as Cherry Creek Village, Stapleton, Pradera in Parker, The Timbers in Parker, as well as loft residences in downtown Denver. Homes have bee selected from more than 50 HBA custom builders. Criteria for selection includes home value, unique features, location and level of finish as judged by a special jury of industry experts.
“We have decided to showcase outstanding custom homes that are already built and available for sale,” said Clarence Hughes, chairman of the event and an HBA board member. “This new event will offer the public a larger variety of home choices to walk through and get great ideas and more neighborhoods to explore.”
This new event came about as a result of challenges currently facing the home building industry after builders faced difficulty in obtaining construction financing.
“Despite the housing slump, our association is committed to promoting our home building industry and our members and felt that this approach would better serve the public as well as home builders,” said Hughes.
